About the Role
The Automation Sales Engineer position at Hyspecs (NZ) offers a unique blend of sales, project management, technical support, and hands-on engagement. As a member of our team, you will contribute to delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving business growth.

**Key Responsibilities**
  1. Develop and implement sales strategies to identify new customer opportunities and expand existing relationships.
  2. Work closely with the Automation and Electrical team to propose innovative solutions for customers' applications.
  3. Negotiate pricing agreements with direct customers and channel partners.
  4. Contribute insights on market trends, competitive information, and sales initiatives to inform business decisions.
  5. Present technical information to customers and provide basic product training as needed.
  6. Drive specification processes and support account growth at key accounts.
  7. Maintain accurate records of account activity, opportunities, quotations, and development progress using CRM systems.
  8. Provide regular reports, including expense reports and business plans, as required.
  9. Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, trade show exhibits, and special assignments as necessary.
  10. Travel within New Zealand to engage with customers and prospects.


**Project Management Expectations**
This role demands strong project management skills, with experience in leading project planning, estimating costs, managing budgets, and overseeing resource allocation. The successful candidate will ensure timely project delivery, maintain open communication with customers, and work closely with the design department to deliver comprehensive project solutions.

**Hands-On Assistance Requirements**Understanding of and willingness to wire PLCs, drives, motors, and controllers – Automation and Electrification.Understanding of and willingness to assemble multi-axis gantry systems – Linear Motion Technology.Understanding of and willingness to program tightening controllers and install tightening tools – Tightening Technology.Understanding of and willingness to program and assist with installing robots – Cobots.

**Essential Qualifications**
To succeed in this role, you will require:
  • A technical qualification or engineering degree, with a solid understanding of electromechanical principles.
  • At least 5 years of sales, hands-on, and technical experience.
  • Knowledge of Automation and Electrification products, machine applications, and factory automation.
  • Capability to work with various tools and technologies.
  • Strong project management and sales skills, with the ability to develop and execute successful strategies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the capacity to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently, with strong time management skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new situations.
