The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) is the largest police service in the country, handling a significant volume of calls every day. Our phones are managed 24/7/365 by a team called Met Command & Control (MetCC), which is responsible for ensuring we have enough staff to deal with calls and interactions at all times.
Salary
The starting salary for this role is £38,620, which includes a 12.5% shift disturbance allowance. The salary is broken down into £31,880 basic salary, which will increase annually until reaching the top of the scale (£34,108), plus location allowances and a non-pensionable allowance totalling £2,928.
Job Description
In this key role, you'll be part of a dedicated and organised team, working closely with officers and staff to plan the staffing needs of the MetCC workforce. You'll be dealing with queries, updating workforce manager systems, and escalating short to mid-term resourcing issues. Your task will be to forecast long-term requirements and process complex change requests.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need to be a critical and analytical thinker, able to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll need to present ideas effectively. A passion for technology and computer literacy skills (particularly Microsoft Excel) are desirable, as they'll enable you to handle data and come up with innovative solutions.
