Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Insurance Expert - Business Development to join our team based in Auckland.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert insurance advice and products to our corporate clients, identifying new business opportunities, and developing strategic business growth plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert insurance advice and products to corporate clients, ensuring they have the necessary coverage to withstand any insurable event financially.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key decision makers, taking charge of growth, acquisition, and renewals for our large corporate clients.
- Leverage technical expertise to lead client presentations and negotiations, prepare tender submissions, and propose business development strategies.
- Develop and execute strategic business growth plans that meet or exceed established sales targets.
- Continually develop and manage exceptional client relationships to deliver an outstanding experience and drive retention and positive client referrals.
- Build knowledge and understanding of our client's business and industry market to provide trusted advice and grow the portfolio.
- Proactively cross-sell and promote products to clients, including premium funding, cyber risk, domestic insurance, and life and health.
- Manage renewals, resolving client queries and servicing alterations and endorsements.
- Develop business confidence in Gallagher through maintaining relevant relationships in the business markets and developing new client relationships.
- Cultivate the skills and capabilities of Broker Support Staff to enable them to manage their own client base.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you will need:
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in corporate insurance.
- Proven ability to develop and manage complex client accounts.
- Proven ability to identify, generate, qualify, develop, negotiate, and close opportunities.
- Demonstrated experience in writing tender submissions, presenting, and building relationships with key decision makers.
- A high degree of commercial acumen.
- Holds or is working towards a Certificate in Financial Services (NZQA Level 5).
