Job Overview

This permanent, part-time Veterinary Technical Supervisor 2 role is based in Te Kuiti and involves providing food safety, animal welfare, and biosecurity verification and certification services at Universal Beef Packers. The successful candidate will work closely with meat industry stakeholders and MPI colleagues to ensure compliance with export standards and legislation.

The role requires a high level of expertise in veterinary medicine, particularly in food safety and biosecurity. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical guidance on food safety and biosecurity matters
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures related to animal welfare and food safety
  • Conducting audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Certifying animal meat exports
  • Maintaining animal welfare standards
