About the Opportunity

We're currently seeking a skilled Intermediate Consents Planner to join our Community & District Development team at the Civic Centre.

As our Planner, you will provide expert guidance on a range of resource management consenting functions, including reviewing consent recommendations and offering technical support.

You will also play a key role in supporting RMA-related processes, such as hearings and Environment Court proceedings, and contributing to integrated planning solutions and customer-focused service improvement projects.

You'll maintain close relationships with the Planning Policy team to ensure seamless integration between consenting and policy planning, while delivering a customer-focused 'pre-consent lodgement' service.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, customer-focused planning advice on resource management consenting functions
  • Support RMA-related processes, including hearings and Environment Court proceedings
  • Contribute to integrated planning solutions and customer-focused service improvement projects
  • Maintain close relationships with the Planning Policy team

We're Looking For

An experienced Consent Planner with a relevant tertiary qualification, 3+ years of experience in land use and subdivision, and NZPI membership (or eligibility).

The ideal candidate possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a strong understanding of relevant legislation, and a commitment to cross-organizational accountability and integrated consenting outcomes.

Making Good Decisions Certification is a plus.
