Gilmours is a leading foodservice retailer in the North Island, and we are seeking a highly skilled Food Retail Buying Manager to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the Produce category and supporting the Category Manager with Butchery and Seafood.

Your primary focus will be on planning, organizing, and delivering results for the Produce category. You will align priorities with our overall strategy, agree goals, measures, and service levels to grow and maintain market share.

You will establish operational standards and ensure brand-consistent positioning across Gilmours. Additionally, you will provide ongoing education for Store Buyers, Sales Managers, and Owners to enhance knowledge of the Produce Category.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have experience in operational management, including ranging, sourcing, pricing, and promotion. You should also be comfortable with negotiation and management of commercial supplier/distribution agreements.

Apart from your technical skills, you will be expected to understand market trends and influences within New Zealand and globally. You will also need to be good with numbers, data, and analysis, with the ability to multitask and have an eye for detail.
