Role Overview

The Queenstown Lakes District Council is seeking an experienced civil engineering or surveying professional to join its Engineering Acceptance team as an Infrastructure Compliance Supervisor. This role sits within the team responsible for ensuring development infrastructure meets QLDC standards.

About the Role

This role focuses on field compliance, risk mitigation, and regulatory oversight. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring infrastructure projects adhere to all relevant regulations, standards, and policies
  • Regularly monitoring infrastructure activities to identify potential non-compliance issues
  • Attending hold point inspections and confirming physical construction has met Council Code of Practice or resource consent conditions at subdivision completion

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of three waters, roading, and land management principles. They will also possess excellent time management, project management, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently after training.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Surveying, or related discipline
  • New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Level 4)
  • Registered & Licenced Certifying Drainlayer desirable but not essential
