Job Overview
Wildland Consultants is seeking skilled and dedicated professionals to join our Auckland branch as Ecological Restoration Team Members. This full-time, fixed-term position involves working in small field teams to control pest plants, with some pest animal control and planting work from time to time.
We are looking for team members with a range of experience, through to experienced team leaders who can effectively lead and manage staff. Pest plant identification skills and knowledge of control methods are preferred.
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working in the outdoors and achieving restoration goals. They will possess good communication and interpersonal skills, decision-making and problem-solving abilities, and be able to work independently and within a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Control pest plants in small field teams
- Conduct pest animal monitoring and control
- Participate in indigenous planting activities
- Operate agrichemicals (herbicides), vertebrate toxins (poisons), and traps
Requirements
A good level of fitness and outdoor skills are essential. A full New Zealand driver's license (manual) is required. Preferred applicants will hold current relevant qualifications and experience, including Growsafe certification and First Aid training.
