Job Overview

The Hermitage, Aoraki / Mount Cook Alpine Village, is seeking a highly skilled Duty Manager to join our Front Office team. As a key member of the hotel operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless guest experiences across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee overall hotel operations, including reception and porters, and liaise with other departments to ensure cohesive service.
  • Liaise and communicate with all departments regarding relevant information, such as hotel events, special requirements, and requests.
  • Ensure all room allocations are consistent with set guidelines and that guest requests are followed.
  • Handle all guest requests or complaints, referring to the Guest Services Manager, General Manager, and relevant HODs where required.
  • Comply with hotel rules and regulations and observe correct security procedures to maintain guest security and privacy.

Requirements

  • Previous duty manager experience preferred.
  • Comfortable working and living in a remote location due to the unique location of Mt Cook.
  • Flexibility and experience in working rotating shift patterns, including weekends, public holidays, and nights.
  • A focus on guest experience with an attention to detail, attentive nature, and effective communication skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
