About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Support Worker to join our Supported Living team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities to achieve their goals and aspirations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting individuals to develop daily living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and budgeting
- Helping individuals to maintain social connections and engage in community activities
- Assisting individuals in finding employment and navigating the workforce
- Providing support for individuals to manage social issues and access relevant community services
- Encouraging individuals to make informed decisions and live a healthy lifestyle
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is preferred but not essential
- Able to build strong relationships with individuals and their families
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve in complex situations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to share information clearly
- Comfortable using technology to support daily tasks
- Physically fit to support individuals in various activities
- Full New Zealand driver's license
