Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Keeper to join our Wildlife team. As a Senior Keeper, you will be responsible for the daily husbandry of various species, supervising the Keeper team, and implementing best practices in animal welfare and husbandry. You will also play a key role in training and developing the skills of our Keepers, volunteers, and interns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care and husbandry for a variety of species
- Supervise and lead the Keeper team
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and policies
- Implement health and safety protocols and procedures
- Develop and deliver training programs for staff and volunteers
- Contribute to the development of breeding programs and animal enclosures
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A proven track record of leadership and management experience
- At least 3 years of experience leading a captive breeding program
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A passion for conservation and animal welfare
