Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Keeper to join our Wildlife team. As a Senior Keeper, you will be responsible for the daily husbandry of various species, supervising the Keeper team, and implementing best practices in animal welfare and husbandry. You will also play a key role in training and developing the skills of our Keepers, volunteers, and interns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily care and husbandry for a variety of species
  • Supervise and lead the Keeper team
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and policies
  • Implement health and safety protocols and procedures
  • Develop and deliver training programs for staff and volunteers
  • Contribute to the development of breeding programs and animal enclosures

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A proven track record of leadership and management experience
  • At least 3 years of experience leading a captive breeding program
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for conservation and animal welfare
