We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Conservation Planning Advisor to join our team at the Department of Conservation (DOC). This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of conservation planning and policy that protects and restores nature across Aotearoa.
**Key Responsibilities Include:**
- Developing conservation management strategies and national park plans
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to understand conservation aspirations and interests
- Providing quality advice and support to the Statutory Planning team
- Contributing to the development of robust future-proof planning approaches
**Requirements:**
- A strong background in planning, policy, legal, resource management or stakeholder engagement
- Excellent analytical and organisational skills
- Knowledge of planning disciplines or policy development
- Experience working with tangata whenua and understanding of te ao Māori would be an advantage
