Job Summary

We are seeking a Strategic Legal Advisor to join our team as In-House Counsel for Employee Relations. The successful candidate will provide expert legal advice and strategic guidance on employment law, industrial relations, and workplace matters.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with senior leaders, HR teams, and unions to navigate employment challenges and manage legal risk.
  • Provide expert legal advice and strategic guidance on employment law, industrial relations, and workplace matters.
  • Represent the organisation in employment disputes, mediations, and Employment Relations Authority proceedings (as required).
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience as an employment lawyer with a current New Zealand practicing certificate or ability to obtain one.
  • Experience within an organisation employing regulated professionals would be advantageous.
  • An in-depth understanding of employment-related legislation and its application in an operational environment.
