As a Home Visiting Practitioner with Barnardos Aotearoa, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable 0-5 year olds and their families. The intensive home visiting programme focuses on improving infant/children's growth and health, learning and relationships, family circumstances, environment, & safety. You will work with parents/caregivers of babies and young children using a wide range of skills and parenting strategies. Collaborate with families and whānau to assess the needs of children and babies. Create and monitor plans using appropriate interventions and the resources available to assist the client family. Deliver group programmes to parents and caregivers. Support families to use their strengths, support networks, and resources independently to develop greater resilience and maintain a positive and safe environment for their children. The ideal candidate will have registration with NZSWRB or a graduate registered with a professional organisation in health or education. Experience of working with children and families. Proven ability to complete complex child and parenting case assessments & case work. Effective communication skills. Knowledge of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tikanga Māori. A current clear driver's licence.
