Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising on commercial law matters, including ICT contracts, health contracts, and procurement contracts.
  • Developing and implementing legal strategies to support the business.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the organization to deliver results.
  • Mentoring and coaching junior lawyers and other team members.
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in commercial law and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 7 years' experience as a lawyer in New Zealand.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A general understanding of Te Reo Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.
  • The ability to coach and mentor junior lawyers and other team members.
  • Consistently showing initiative and self-drive to achieve results.
