The Role

As our Health and Safety Advisor, you will provide support to the OHS Manager to guide the site through the 'I CARE' journey; to improve culture, reduce risk and develop all workers into Safety Leaders. You will assist in specific RESH areas, such as research and application of best practice regarding risk assessments, investigations, PPE, Critical risk activities and Safe Operation of Machinery.

  • Maintain the Risk Register, lead risk assessments, support and monitor corrective actions.
  • Support and assist the development of Health and Safety Representatives and Safety Committee.
  • Ensure compliance trainings are maintained and meet minimum requirements.
  • Take oversight of tracking and reporting of Incidents – support investigation and solution, maintain the database and complete reports for accident tracking.
  • Perform internal audits of H&S Support activities and processed/procedures, verify correct and update where needed.

Your Skills and Qualifications

You will be passionate about Health and Safety, preferably with previous experience in an industrial environment. You will have well-developed communication skills, and be adept at building rapport and getting buy-in. You will be self-motivated, with a drive to improve processes and ensure our site has a safety-conscious culture.

  • NZ Diploma in Workplace Health and Safety Management (level 6), NZQA Level 4-5 Certificates or similar, would be advantageous.
  • Experience within an industrial Health and Safety environment.
  • Previous experience with Health and Safety Operating systems and/or SAP.
  • Experience completing Risk Assessments, Investigations and/or Audits would be beneficial.
