Snowsports Operations at NZ Ski Limited
We operate three ski resorts in New Zealand: Coronet Peak, The Remarkables, and Mt Hutt. Our snowsports operations teams work tirelessly to provide exceptional customer experiences, maintain the highest standards of safety and professionalism, and create lasting memories for our guests.
About the Position
This is a key role within our snowsports operations team, reporting to the Patrol & Medical Head of Department. You will assist the Head of Department to deliver the company purpose and mission statements and the department objectives. You'll be a great team player with a strong safety background who thrives in a positive work environment and works hard to achieve the best possible atmosphere for both customers and fellow staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Motivate, develop and lead a team within the Patrol department.
- Undertake staff recruitment, training, development, administration, and performance management.
- Multi-task, problem solve, and work well under pressure.
- Manage trail openings and closures and ensure trails are signposted accordingly.
- Assist with avalanche control.
Requirements
- Previous experience is considered a definite advantage and supporting references must be provided.
- The ability to quickly build a rapport with all guests and staff, coupled with strong teamwork skills.
- You must be comfortable working in an alpine environment in a variety of weather conditions.
- Good knowledge of ski area snow conditions, and the ability to ski or snowboard expertly in all weather on all terrain.
- A commitment to ongoing training and development throughout the season.
