Role Description

This is a permanent position based in Queenstown Lakes District, where you will be part of a small multi-disciplinary team. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for the psychiatric assessment and care of patients, working collaboratively with the primary health sector consistent with our values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat patients in an outpatient or community setting
  • Contribute to ongoing service improvement and workforce innovation
  • Join regular meetings with our base hospitals through video conferencing
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A strong commitment to maintaining high standards of practice and working as part of a team
  • Ability to provide clinical leadership and reliable medical input
  • Demonstrated commitment to service user and family/whanau inclusion in service delivery
  • Sound understanding and commitment to biculturalism
  • Fellowship with the RANZCP or equivalent
  • Eligibility for registration with the NZ Medical Council
  • A full driver's licence
