About the Role

We are seeking an experienced CAD design and programming specialist to join our team as a digital fabrication engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled individual to take on new challenges and develop their skills in automated manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program all CNC machines within the workshop to ensure accurate and efficient operations.
  • Nest and program plate cutting jobs and issue them for fabrication.
  • Draft and detail variations to contract works using Solid Edge, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
  • Prepare and detail small jobs using Solid Edge, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
  • Assist the Production Manager and Workshop Manager with minor alterations and additions to existing fabrication drawings.
  • Create plate development drawings and cutting files as required.
  • Calculate and order materials as needed for various projects.
  • Program and nest Cell beams, including camber calculations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years related experience in the industry or similar environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software including Solid Edge, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with CNC machine programming and nesting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in draughting and programming.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong mathematical skills for precise measurements and calculations.
