This role offers a unique chance to experience diverse clinical work and engage with Maori communities. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that is committed to excellence in practice, professional development, and opportunities for research.
The successful applicant will have generalist psychiatrist skills and be able to participate in an after-hours on-call roster. The roster is well-supported by skilled and experienced front-line clinical staff who work with a cultural team.
We are looking for a candidate who has energy to tackle inequities, a desire to engage in service development, and the motivation to make a difference within our community.
About the Role
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work creatively to achieve positive outcomes for whanau. They will experience rewarding and unique collaborations engaging Maori communities.
The role will suit a psychiatrist who has broad clinical experience and specialist knowledge of Mental Health Services for Older People and General Adult psychiatry.

Key Responsibilities
- To provide high-quality medical care to our community as a Consultant Psychiatrist.
- To participate in an after-hours on-call roster.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry or equivalent.
- Registered or eligible for vocational registration in Psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
- Broad clinical experience and specialist knowledge of Mental Health Services for Older People and General Adult psychiatry.
