Job DescriptionAbout the Role

The Children's Community Nurse Specialists play a critical role in providing advanced nursing practice within an interdisciplinary team to promote safety, independence and self-care for whanau who have pepi/tamariki with complex health needs in the home.

This senior nursing role involves visiting tamariki and whanau in their homes to provide specialist nursing care within a case management model to support a variety of paediatric health areas including acute/chronic/complex medical cares, neonatal care and wound management.

In this position, you will work autonomously in the community to advocate, consult and collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality care that meets the unique needs of each family.

You will be part of a small but supportive team of paediatric clinical nurse specialists who work across the full week Monday to Sunday, offering flexibility and autonomy in your work.

About You
  • A shared passion and commitment for whanau-centred care and cultural safety
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in paediatric nursing (preferably in a NZ Health Care setting), including acute paediatrics
  • A PG Diploma in a specialty nursing practice (or working towards this)
  • A current APC and NZ drivers' licence
