Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Nurse Specialist to join our team at Starship Child Health. As a key member of the Patient at Risk (PaR) team, you will be responsible for identifying and managing children at risk of deterioration throughout the hospital.

The ideal candidate will have experience in acute care or critical care and be looking to extend their scope as a Nurse Specialist. You will work part-time in PaR and part-time in another acute setting, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with primary medical and nursing ward teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and manage children at risk of deterioration throughout the hospital
  • Collaborate with primary medical and nursing ward teams to ensure timely management of deteriorating patients
  • Promote best practice and manage complex problems
  • Making informed recommendations and facilitating collaboration between teams
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A minimum of 5 years clinical practice in an acute care setting post-registration
  • Some experience at an advanced level
  • A current annual practicing certificate
  • Registration with the NZ nursing council
