Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Mentoring

As a Sewing Tutor, you will be responsible for teaching basic to advanced sewing techniques to students. This includes assisting them in learning how to use sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques.

Curriculum Development

You will create lesson plans and projects suitable for different skill levels, ensuring that students receive a well-rounded education in sewing.

Community Engagement

You will maintain a safe and supportive learning environment and support community events by contributing to textile-related projects.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have proficiency in sewing, including machine and hand sewing. Experience in teaching or mentoring is preferred but not required. You should also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and a passion for skill-sharing and community development.

Clearance

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
