The Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated Financial Accountant to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis at our Lincoln Campus in Canterbury.

As a key member of our Corporate Finance team, you will be responsible for managing fixed assets, depreciation, and capital expenditure processes, as well as preparing depreciation and capital expenditure forecasts and budgets.

You will also support the team in covering accounting responsibilities for AgResearch's subsidiaries, associates, and assisting the Group Finance Manager to meet requirements for all statutory reporting, group management reporting, treasury, and taxation.

What You Will Be Doing

  1. Managing fixed assets, depreciation, and capital expenditure processes
  2. Preparing depreciation and capital expenditure forecasts and budgets
  3. Supporting capital expenditure business case preparation
  4. Preparing monthly financial reporting and assisting with year-end Group Consolidated Financial Statements
  5. Providing accounting support to corporate areas of the business

Your Ideal Background

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent
  • Experience with fixed assets and capital expenditure
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards, processes, and financial analysis
  • Business analysis and project management skills
  • Ability to balance conflicting demands and achieve results
  • Effective communication skills on both oral and written levels
  • Able to work autonomously while being part of a collaborative team
  • Demonstrates safe workplace behavior
