Job Description

National Emergency Management Agency (NZ) is seeking an experienced Emergency Management Advisor to join our Policy Unit. As an advisor, you will provide high-quality policy advice to government, the emergency management sector, and wider national security systems.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Helping progress an Emergency Management Bill.
  • Managing machinery of government processes.
  • Providing policy advice during and after emergencies.
  • Analyzing and coordinating second opinion advice on policy work impacting NEMA's roles.
  • Potentially responding to national emergency responses.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in emergency management policy.

  • Acts with an understanding of the Crown's obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
