**Job Description**
In this role, you will lead and support the development and implementation of strategic national frameworks for recovery, including national planning, monitoring arrangements, providing guidance, and capability development. You will also represent NEMA's position in advancing recovery with stakeholders at strategic levels.
This position sits in the Risk and Recovery Unit / Te Wahanga Morea me te Whakaora, responsible for leading the development of hazard risk management and recovery policy and practice. The unit coordinates science and technical advice on hazard risk management and coordinates central government recovery activities during and following emergencies.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic national frameworks for recovery
- Represent NEMA's position in advancing recovery with stakeholders at strategic levels
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
We are looking for a candidate with:
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent body of knowledge and experience
- Understanding of recovery, emergency management, or related areas' theory and practice
- Experience in persuading, influencing, building, and maintaining effective collaborative relationships
- Ability to develop and apply national policies
