Job Description:
The New Zealand Government is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oncology Nurse Specialist to provide clinical leadership and support to patients and their whānau during their Oncology treatment. This role involves working collaboratively with Radiation and Medical Oncology multidisciplinary teams to provide care to patients based in the Auckland region, regionally at local delivery sites, and into community settings as the service expands.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional and clinical leadership to support nursing teams
  • Prioritize workload and work as part of a supportive senior nursing team
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams

Requirements:
  • A commitment to biculturalism
  • A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
  • A current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
  • Minimum Level 3 preferably Level 4 practice chemotherapy certified RN with a strong oncology nursing background
  • Expert clinical knowledge and leadership skills
  • Post graduate qualifications, preferably to master's level with a focus on NP or prescribing pathways
  • Innovative mindset and ability to network with different stakeholders
