About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Water Infrastructure Project Lead to join our winning team in Nelson, New Zealand. This is a great opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer with experience in water infrastructure projects to push their career forward and grow commercially at a global consulting firm.

As a Senior Civil Engineer - Water, you will lead on assigned projects to deliver agreed outputs on budget, on time and to quality standards.

You will determine client requirements, conduct and manage site surveys and investigations, produce calculations, cost estimates, specifications and drawings to ensure that technical designs provide quality solutions.

You will organise tender documents, evaluate tenders and contracts, develop and mentor junior staff, liaise continually with clients to ensure their expectations are met, clearly understand objectives of new and existing clients, and produce quality project outputs.

The successful candidate will have experience in general civil engineering projects, especially water infrastructure, and a passion for quality and timely project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on assigned projects to deliver agreed outputs on budget, on time and to quality standards
  • Determine client requirements, conduct and manage site surveys and investigations, produce calculations, cost estimates, specifications and drawings to ensure that technical designs provide quality solutions
  • Organise tender documents, evaluate tenders and contracts
  • Develop and mentor junior staff
  • Liaise continually with clients to ensure their expectations are met
  • Clearly understand objectives of new and existing clients
  • Produce quality project outputs

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • 7-10 years relevant experience desirable, preferably in water infrastructure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Great time management and prioritization skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
