About Our Team

Our Waste Solutions team is dedicated to developing and implementing strategies for achieving zero waste by 2040. We are seeking an Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team as part of our 2-year Graduate Programme.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing waste reduction, reuse, and recycling initiatives
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to educate communities on sustainable practices
  • Contributing to the development of our Waste Minimisation and Management Plan
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Have a relevant Bachelor's degree completed between January 2024 and January 2026
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills and excellent communication and time management skills
  • Be eligible to work in New Zealand for more than 3 years without sponsorship

Our 2-year Graduate Programme provides opportunities for accelerated learning, development, and rotations through various teams. You will also have exposure to large-scale projects and initiatives, and be supported in securing a permanent role within one of our Auckland Council entities at the end of the programme.
