MERCK, a leading animal health organization, is seeking an experienced Permit Issuer and Site Liaison to support our site operations. This role requires strong technical knowledge of New Zealand safety standards and the ability to work collaboratively with other functions to support site priorities.

**Job Description**

The primary responsibility of the Permit Issuer and Site Liaison is to ensure the safe execution of site tasks and activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting contractor inductions and assessing hazards and risks associated with contractor work
  • Issuing permits-to-work in accordance with company and Worksafe NZ's policies
  • Supporting the maintenance team in planning and performing tasks such as confined space entry
  • Providing input and assistance with executing capital projects
  • Ensuring all GMP, corporate, and legislative compliance requirements are met

**Required Skills and Qualifications**

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Experience working with contractors and or contracting environment (industrial preferred)
  • Working knowledge of New Zealand safety standards, requirements, and legislation
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Report and investigation writing skills
  • Computer skills: Microsoft products
