We are transitioning from a traditional electricity distribution company to a technology-enabled distributed energy system, allowing multi-directional energy transfers between small generators and users.

**Job Responsibilities**

As a Transmission Systems Engineer, you will install, maintain, and repair electrical distribution lines and associated equipment. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Installing and maintaining poles and other line support structures, conductors, transformers, switches, earth banks, and all associated equipment.
  • Conducting scheduled maintenance and testing on distribution lines and equipment.
  • Identifying and rectifying network faults.
  • Providing a cable laying service, including testing and livening.

**Requirements**

To excel in this role, you will need a current Practising Licence as an EWRB Registered Line Mechanic, accompanied by a minimum of two years of industry experience as a Line Mechanic. A full NZ Driver Licence, including classes 1 and 2, and preferably up to class 5 would be advantageous. Additionally, you must be a skilled HIAB and Overhead Switching Operator, and possess normal colour vision.
