Job Description

As a Senior Land Management Executive at Forestry and Land Scotland, you will be responsible for leading the East Region team in planning, coordinating, and delivering the management of public forests and land. The region spans 95,000 hectares of public land across Moray, Aberdeenshire, Perthshire, and eastern Fife.

The team is multi-disciplinary, comprising foresters, civil engineers, land agents, ecologists, administrators, craftspeople, and rangers. They are supported by national colleagues from finance, procurement, people, and digital teams, as well as technical experts and professionals in land management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the East Region team in achieving business priorities, including harvesting and marketing sustainable timber, reducing civil engineering costs, and addressing woodland re-establishment through increased planting and natural regeneration.
  • Collaborate with others to influence corporate direction and priorities as a member of the Land Management Leadership Team and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Work closely with local communities and stakeholders to deliver Scottish Government-funded programmes of peatland restoration and new woodland creation.
