Job Overview:

WOFO is seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality care to patients under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient handling assistance as required, using lifting equipment correctly and assisting with walking frames and other equipment.
  • Maintain patient hygiene, comfort, and care, including assistance with sponging, showering, bathing, bed making, and preparing the room for admission.
  • Complete delegated tasks promptly and efficiently without constant supervision.
  • Ensure Health and Safety compliance by using equipment safely, reporting incidents, accidents, and near misses promptly, and following required policies and procedures, including infection control.
  • Restock materials and complete cleaning duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Level 4 NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or equivalent).
  • Exceptional people skills with empathy and compassion for all patients.
  • A reasonable level of fitness to perform required duties, including lifting.
  • An excellent level of spoken and written English and numeracy.
  • Reliability and honesty with a positive attitude.
  • Willingness to undergo police clearance and a health screening.
