About the Role
The Support Worker position involves assisting individuals in developing their independence and acquiring daily living skills. This includes tasks such as helping with public transportation, employment, finances, and meal preparation. Depending on the work environment, Support Workers may also assist with individual needs such as shopping, cleaning, showering, and medication administration.
No prior experience in the health and disability sector is necessary, but a strong desire to pursue a career as a Support Worker with a positive attitude is highly valued. Full training and orientation will be provided to individuals who demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
To be successful in this role, you should have the ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleepover shifts. You should also be comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and be physically fit to provide necessary physical support.
