This role sits within our Response and Resilience Manager's portfolio, supporting Council, communities, and agencies in understanding hazards, planning for risk, and developing preparedness against disasters.

Main Responsibilities
  • Foster networks with communities and agencies to increase resilience.
  • Educate communities about natural and man-made hazards.
  • Develop and enhance emergency response plans.
Requirements
  • Tertiary degree or equivalent experience in emergency management.
  • CDEM sector training via the Integrated Training Framework.
  • Demonstrated decision-making under stress.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to disaster resilience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Facilitation and technology skills.
  • Cultural awareness and NZ drivers' licence.
