About the DBT Service

The Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Service provides DBT services to tāngata whai ora who meet criteria for Borderline Personality Disorder and usually present with complex trauma experiences. Our service is grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is dedicated to serving all New Zealanders.

Key Responsibilities

Working with Complex Trauma

Clinicians working with this population must be able to sit with anxieties and be aware of potential boundary violations/issues, and transference/counter-transference issues. Clinicians should have the maturity and insight to recognise the limitation of their own knowledge and willingness to develop that where possible.

As a DBT Clinical Expert, you will have access to training programs, including specialist DBT Training, and contribute to service development projects. You will also have the opportunity to participate in projects of passion relative to the role.
