Mental Health Support Specialist

The RoleThis opportunity provides cover for permanent Support Workers, with hours offered when available. Reporting to the Team Coach, you will work 24/7 or Monday-Sunday based in Waihi. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting individuals connect back with their community
- Assisting with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and gardening
- Helping with budgeting and independent daily living
- Providing medication support where required
- Attending appointments and advocating for the people we support
To be successful in this role, you will need a current full New Zealand driver's licence, a current New Zealand first aid certificate, and either a Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or willingness to commence study towards this qualification within six months.
What We OfferWe provide significant support to complete your study, and encourage experience in working with young people and an understanding of trauma-informed care. You must also be able to be flexible and available for varying shifts, possessing both de-escalation skills and relationship-building skills.
