About the Job

We are currently looking for a seasoned Corporate Recovery and Turnaround Specialist to join our team at Grant Thornton New Zealand. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day delivery of a wide range of Restructuring and Insolvency assignments.

This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a client-focused approach to work. If you have experience working on insolvencies and restructuring engagements, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Undertake investigative accounting reviews to diagnose issues, understand a company's financial position, and advise stakeholders on options available
  2. Plan insolvency engagements, including receiverships, voluntary administrations, and liquidations
  3. Execute insolvency appointments involving tasks such as trading businesses, sale of business, and asset realisation processes
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3+ years' experience working on insolvencies and restructuring engagements
  • Experience managing insolvency engagements from inception to closure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to critically think and solve problems
  • Very good written and oral communication skills
  • A commerce degree together with CA, CPA, or CFA qualifications
  • Previous exposure to a variety of organisations and industries
  • The ability to work as part of a team but also autonomously
  • A full Driver's License
