We are seeking a Peer Support and Wellbeing Coordinator to join our team at the Waikato District Health Board. This role involves providing peer support services to individuals recovering from eating disorders, working collaboratively with clinical staff to deliver evidence-based treatments, and promoting connections with family, whanau, communities, and other health services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop positive working relationships with clients on their eating disorder recovery journey.
- Provide peer support services, using lived experience to inspire hope and offer encouragement.
- Work closely with clinical staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
- Promote the importance of connections with family, whanau, communities, and other health services.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Lived experience of an eating disorder or as a carer of a loved one with an eating disorder.
- A willingness to learn and develop skills in mental health and wellbeing.
- A positive mindset, patience, and the capacity to be encouraging and compassionate.
