About the Job:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our dynamic team at Ara Poutama Aotearoa (Department of Corrections). As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to deliver high-quality mental health services and make a lasting impact on the lives of those in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialised Mental Health nursing services that enhance the well-being of individuals in our care.
  • Assume a leadership role in supporting the professional growth of fellow mental health professionals within the Intervention and Support Practice Team.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide comprehensive rehabilitation-oriented healthcare within the prison setting.

Requirements:

  • Hold the title of Registered Nurse with a current Nursing Council of NZ Annual Practising Certificate.
  • Demonstrate strong cultural competence, encompassing an understanding of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application, along with cultural knowledge and experience in working with and for Māori, whānau, and iwi.
  • Have specialist Mental Health nursing experience in primary/community, secondary, or tertiary settings.
