The Job Description
This role is focused on providing support to individuals with intellectual disabilities in a variety of settings. As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for assisting individuals with daily living tasks, managing their finances, and facilitating their participation in community activities. You will also provide emotional support and guidance to help individuals make informed decisions about their lives.
Responsibilities
- Providing individualized support to people with intellectual disabilities
- Assisting with daily living tasks, such as personal care and household chores
- Managing finances and completing administrative tasks
- Facilitating participation in community activities and events
- Providing emotional support and guidance to help individuals make informed decisions
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Variety of life experience and an open-minded attitude
- The ability to build good relationships with the individuals we support and help them make good decisions for themselves
- The capacity to work independently and problem-solve in complex situations
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to share information in a way that can be easily understood
- Comfortable and proficient in using technology
- Physical fitness to support in a variety of activities
- A Full NZ driver's licence
