Christchurch City Council is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Coordinator to join our Technical Services & Design Unit. In this role, you will work closely with contractors and stakeholders to ensure that Council projects and physical works contracts are managed effectively.
Your primary responsibility will be coordinating the delivery of stormwater projects, including the construction of wetlands, stormwater retention basins, waterway enhancements, parklands, and large-scale landscape areas. You will deal directly with the contractor on a regular basis, oversee the construction process, and handle any community concerns that may arise during this time.
As part of your duties, you will also be involved in tender evaluations, ensuring that the Council's procurement processes are followed correctly. You will work closely with other teams within the organization to achieve the Council's goals and objectives.
We are looking for a skilled professional with a strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices, as well as experience working with contractors and managing projects. Familiarity with industry best practice, such as building and civil engineering construction standards (NZS 3910 and 3916), is also essential.
