Job Description

 

This role is responsible for working in partnership with agencies, organisations and providers to assist them to monitor and improve their services for Maori.

 

The successful candidate will be able to work alongside stakeholders across iwi, public and private sectors, contributing to regional work programmes including leading and providing policy advice across a range of project related issues significant to Maori and Government.

 

The role requires strong critical reasoning, numerical, communication and initiative skills, as well as good technology skills, including using spreadsheets and databases.

 

Salary: The salary for this role is $76,022 to $101,362 per annum, with a mid-point of $84,468.

Required Skills and Qualifications

 

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • A love of korero and wananga.
  • Experience working alongside and advising Maori business/enterprise and working in the Regional Economic Development space.
  • Established networks in the region (or the ability to build these quickly).
  • Strong critical reasoning, numerical, communication and initiative skills.
  • Good technology skills, including using spreadsheets and databases.
  • An understanding of tikanga and are comfortable working in a kaupapa Maori environment - a degree of fluency in te reo Maori is beneficial to the mahi.
