Firearms Instruction Expert

New Zealand Police strives to prevent crime and enhance community safety through partnerships with individuals, communities, businesses, and other public sector agencies. This role offers the opportunity to develop coaching, mentoring, and leadership skills as a Tactical Skills Coach focusing on firearms in a supportive learning environment where recruit training is a priority.
About the Position:
- Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and implement effective coaching strategies for recruits
- Mentor and guide colleagues to improve their skills and knowledge
- Identify areas for improvement and develop initiatives to address these gaps
- Foster a positive team culture and promote collaboration among team members
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in firearms instruction and adapt this knowledge to the needs of the organization
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in coaching or mentoring in a similar role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
