**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced Activities Assistant to join our team at one of our facilities in Havelock North, Hastings. As an Activities Assistant, you will play a key role in planning and coordinating activities for our residents, working closely with our Diversional Therapist to create a fun and engaging program.

You will be responsible for understanding the needs and abilities of our residents and encouraging them to participate in activities. You will also follow company policies and procedures to create a safe environment for our residents.

**Responsibilities**

  • Plan and coordinate activities for residents, including exercise programs, arts and crafts, and entertainment events.
  • Work closely with the Diversional Therapist to create a varied and engaging activity program.
  • Understand the needs and abilities of residents and encourage participation in activities.
  • Follow company policies and procedures to create a safe environment for residents.

**Requirements**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in planning and coordinating activities.
  • Great people skills with empathy for the elderly.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills.
  • A vibrant and energetic personality.
  • A clean NZ drivers' licence.
  • Flexible multitasking skills.
  • The ability to work in the weekends.
