Mental Health Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Acute Response Team, providing specialist crisis intervention services to individuals in need.

In this role, you will deliver high-quality care in an acute community mental health setting, working closely with tāngata whai ora and their whānau to achieve positive health outcomes.

Our team is passionate about embedding Te Ao Māori principles in our daily practice, promoting equity, and achieving excellence through collaboration and kindness.

  • This position requires strong assessment and formulation skills, enabling you to identify complex nursing care needs and develop effective management plans.
  • You will be responsible for engaging with clients and their families to achieve maximum health potential, aligning with the model of care, Te Ara Tauwhirotanga.

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A New Zealand Registered Nurse qualification, eligible to work in Mental Health, with a current APC.
  • Minimum 4 years post-graduate experience in an acute mental health setting, preferably community-based.
  • Post-graduate training in Mental Health, ideally with experience as a Duly Authorised Officer (DAO).
