About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Education Advisor to join our team. As a Senior Education Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the education sector to implement government priorities and strategies. Your expertise will be instrumental in improving educational performance in schools and kura, particularly in Maori-medium kura across Tai Tokerau.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing projects to improve educational performance
  • Providing expert advice on education policy and strategy
  • Working collaboratively with schools, kura, and whanau to enhance student engagement and achievement
  • Contributing to the development of education priorities and policies

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual who possesses:

  • Tertiary qualification in education or leadership, or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with student achievement data
  • Experience in developing and implementing projects
  • In-depth knowledge of Tikanga Maori and fluency in Te Reo Maori (written and spoken)
  • Understanding of education systems in New Zealand and relevant education legislation
