Job Overview


We are seeking a highly motivated Technologist to support Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry based research and analytical services at the University, primarily in the field of Proteomics.



Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with researchers for project planning and experimental design
  • Develop sample preparation and data acquisition methods
  • Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation, including mass spectrometers
  • Generate robust experimental data in a timely manner
  • Provide training and advice to students and other facility users
  • Contribute to manuscripts for academic publication
  • General operation of the laboratory, e.g., ordering consumables, disposing of waste etc.


About the Role

This is a 10-month fixed term role across Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week). We offer a competitive salary range of $72,000 - $84,709 per annum dependent on experience and qualifications.

The Faculty of Science's Mass Spectrometry Facility team is a dynamic group of scientists who are passionate about mass spectrometry.



About You

You will be responsible for researching, developing, and applying appropriate sample preparation and data acquisition protocols, and performing data interpretation and analysis as required.
