Job Description
A*STAR is an Accredited Training Organisation (ATO) that has been certified by the Singapore Accountancy Commission (SAC) to provide staff training and development resources for Singapore CA Qualification candidates.

The appointed Deputy Director will oversee a group of finance partners to deliver financial services to A*STAR Research Entities within a shared services environment. He/she will be responsible for continually improving work processes and enhancing service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage stakeholders in Research Entities and serve as a one-stop portal for all Finance related matters.
  • Provide advice and ensure internal controls and financial procedures are compliant with A*STAR Financial Policy and Procedures (FPP) and regulatory accounting standards.
  • Provide financial analysis, insights, and information to support decision making.

Budgeting and Fund Management:
  • Coordinate budgeting exercises with Research Entities.
  • Review project budgets and provide financial assessment.
  • Work with Research Entities to improve budgeting and financial projections.

Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare Audit Committee materials and present financial performance.
  • Review and analyse monthly management reports.
  • Closing of year-end accounts and statutory audit matters.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Provide financial support to projects.
  • Ad hoc tasks as assigned.
