We are Te Paepae o Aotea, a new secondary school in Hawera, South Taranaki. We opened our doors in 2023 with a roll of approximately 1,000 students. Our mission is to provide a future-focused education based on collaborative and flexible teaching and learning.

Salary and Benefits

As a certified teacher, you can expect a base salary ranging from $56,757 to $95,400, depending on your qualifications and experience. You will also be entitled to the High Priority Teacher Supply Allowance of $2,500 per annum. In addition, relocating staff may be eligible for relocation costs.

Job Description

We are seeking talented educators who have a passion for teaching Years 7 and 8. As a classroom teacher at Te Paepae o Aotea, you will be part of a dynamic team that is committed to providing an inclusive and student-centered education. Your role will involve developing and implementing integrated curriculum design, working collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive and supportive learning environment, and contributing to the all-round education of our students.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A growth mindset and a student-centered focus
  • Knowledge of integrated curriculum design or a willingness to learn
  • Pedagogically progressive practices
  • Ability to form effective professional relationships with students and whanau
  • Willingness to learn or implement te reo and a localized curriculum that incorporates Aotearoa history
